The Washington Unified School District (WUSD) transportation team works exceptionally hard to provide a safe means of transportation for students to and from school, in addition to playing a significant role in a student's educational day by setting an example of professionalism and positive behavior each day. The award-winning WUSD Transportation Department employs over 20 bus drivers. It maintains a fleet of nearly 30 buses that transport students over tens of thousands of miles yearly, including various field trips and sporting events throughout the school year.

 

Our school bus drivers undergo extensive classroom training that covers important procedures, including state laws, defensive driving, student management, emergency evacuation drills, and school bus safety lessons. The WUSD Transportation Department also plays an essential role in promoting and offering several driver training programs and workshops throughout the school year.
