Immigration Support

WUSD Stands United

WUSD Stands United

January 2025 - In light of recent federal immigration policy changes, Washington Unified School District (WUSD) reaffirms its commitment to supporting all students and families, regardless of immigration status. We understand these changes may cause concern and uncertainty within our community.

Key points for our WUSD families:

  • Every child has the right to a free public education, regardless of immigration status.
  • WUSD does not collect or share information about students' immigration status.
  • Our schools remain safe havens where all students can learn and thrive.
  • We will not allow immigration enforcement activities on our campuses without proper legal documentation and prior district approval.

We urge families to:

  • Keep your child's emergency contact information updated at school.
  • Create a family preparedness plan.
  • Stay informed about your rights.

WUSD is dedicated to providing resources, support, and a safe learning environment for all our students. If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to your school principal.
