Washington Unified School District (WUSD) is grateful for the support of its community and welcomes all volunteers ready to contribute to the success of school events, activities, and daily learning experiences. Below, you will find more information regarding the volunteer process in our schools.

  1. Begin at the school site where you plan to volunteer.
  2. The school will provide you with a Volunteer Application.
  3. Complete the form and submit it to the school administration for review and approval. Once approved, the form will be returned to you.
  4. Next, gather and submit (in person) all the required documents to the Human Resources Department.

  • Volunteer Application with the signature of the school's administrator
  • Current Negative TB Test (dated within the past 60 days) or Chest X-ray
  • Copy of a state-issued identification
  • Background clearance is completed through Live Scan Fingerprinting.  

**All documents listed above must be turned in to Human Resources before we can provide a Live Scan form.  Please be prepared to take a picture for your Volunteer Badge.**
 
Upon clearance from Human Resources, Volunteer Badges will be sent to the school site. Human Resources will contact volunteers for their approval. Volunteers must wear Volunteer Badges while on any WUSD sites and during functions.
 
NOTE: Volunteers who have been cleared before the 2023-2024 school year should confirm with Alex Perez that their TB test and clearances are current before volunteering at a school site.
