Washington Unified

In June, Washington Unified will offer comprehensive summer enrichment opportunities providing supplemental instructional support to ensure student needs in academic, social-emotional, and many other areas.

This program supports students at the early stages of English Language Development based on their annual language assessment scores. Through engaging thematic instruction and interactive strategies, we will provide 19 days of language learning fun!

This program helps bridge the summer with continued Spanish language support for current Dual Immersion students from Elkhorn.  Through engaging thematic instruction and interactive strategies, we will provide 19 days of Spanish language learning fun!

WMCHS offers an extended learning opportunity for students at the middle college who need to retake standards-based assessments and/ or improve grades from the Fall and Spring semesters.

 

Dates: June 3 - June 13

Times: 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

Location: WMCHS Rooms 1 and 2, 637 Todhunter Avenue, West Sacramento

Attendees: Eligible students currently enrolled in WMCHS are invited.

This summer program supports students in earning some credits through an online platform called Edgenuity. This allows students to focus on the courses that they need. Courses in Edgenuity have been set as credit recovery courses. Students can work at their own pace. The expectation is to have students complete at least two courses (10 credits) within this timeframe.

Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP) provides students a wide range of activities and opportunities beyond the regular school day. These programs aim to enrich students' educational experiences, foster their personal development, and provide a safe and supportive environment for learning.

At Freedom Schools, students are encouraged to believe in their ability to make a difference in themselves, their families, communities, nation, and the world. Freedom schools focus on culturally responsive literacy, social action, civic engagement, and intergenerational leadership development.

Times: 8:00 am - 3:00 pm Mon - Thurs with field trips every Friday

Location: Riverbank School, 1100 Carrie Street

Attendees: Currently enrolled in WUSD or other Yolo County schools. Families receive an invitation via email and/or in person through recruitment. The program is for rising 4th, 5th, 6th graders. 

The Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) summer school program focuses on activities that support student IEPs. Each year, the individual education program (IEP) team must determine the need for ESY services individually.

Attendees: For eligible students, by invitation only per the IEP agreement.

Students will identify tribal symbols, colors, and patterns and create culturally relevant clothing and other items that represent their heritage.

River City High School (RCHS) will host a credit recovery program for RCHS students. 

 

Dates: June 11 - Jul 3

Times: 8:35 am - 1:35 am

Location: River City High School, 1 Raider Lane

Attendees: Sign Up with Counselor or Contacted by Counselor.

This program provides exploratory Arts, Media & Entertainment instruction culminating in a final community showcase.

Times: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Location: Bryte Campus, 637 Todhunter Avenue

Attendees: The application is open to all WUSD students in grades 6-8.
